Very rare and superb "Antimagnetic - Waterproof - Shockproof" pilot's sport chronograph. It was manufactured in 1944 (in series from 1941) according to the archives of the MIDO factory. The total number of watches produced is 144.
It displays the measured time using an indicator placed in the center of the watch (hands appearing in the center) for optimum readability. This watch has been associated with many exploits in the world of aviation. Notably in 1947 when it equipped pilots who achieved a new round-the-world flight record.
Steel case with large applied bezel with round oversized pushers and screwed back (signed Mido, model name and numbered). Original two-tone silvered dial with multi-scales: minute track, telemetric graduation very rare on this model (reading of the minutes by the red hand and large black second hand). Painted Arabic numerals and luminescent skeleton hands.
Vintage steel band strap with integrated buckle and two boxes leather strap.
Movement: Mechanical manual winding caliber signed MIDO / 1300 Valjoux base made for MIDO (with soft iron protective cap) Swiss.
